Kettal's Eolias collection has been developed to seamlessly integrate into both outdoor and indoor settings. The collection distinguishes itself through its commitment to sustainability, utilizing a blend of natural and synthetic materials, including aluminium and wicker.
Drawing inspiration from the Aeolian archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Eolias collection mirrors the diversity and character of these islands. Each item in the collection is built around a tubular aluminium frame, with the option to add "buckets" made of various materials, lending distinct appearances and functionalities.
The collection's versatility is reflected in its naming convention, where each variation is named after an island in the archipelago, resonating with the island's character. For instance, the folding table variants, named Eolias Lipari, pay homage to Lipari, the largest island in the archipelago, hence the naming of the 2.9-meter and 2.2-meter tables. Similarly, the Eolias Salina variant, featuring outdoor wicker, represents the heart of the archipelago, just like the island Salina. Meanwhile, Eolias Panarea, named after the smallest and most popular summer island, Panarea, denotes the outdoor rattan version of the collection.
The outdoor line of the Eolias collection includes teak tables, stackable armchairs, club armchairs and lounge club armchairs in outdoor wicker, as well as an outdoor rattan dining armchair. The indoor version extends these offerings with additional pieces like an armchair with wheels and a club armchair. Accompanying these are dining chairs, seats, and cushions for both seat and backrest, ensuring comfort and style in various settings.

Expormim, recognizing the chair's timeless appeal, revisited its first Lapala woven chair, a Mediterranean classic, originally designed in 1998. Initially an indoor chair crafted in wicker by a company within the same group as Expormim, Lapala risked being forgotten. However, in 2015, Expormim rejuvenated the chair for outdoor use, utilizing durable materials like nautical rope and stainless steel. This revitalization also included enhanced ergonomics for improved comfort.
Marking its quarter-century milestone, Expormim has introduced a new indoor version of Lapala to its portfolio. Following on from successful shows in both the UK and the Netherlands this year, Workspace Design Show is pleased to announce the first names to be added to the speaker programme for its London 2024 show. Held from 27-28 February 2024 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, the event will feature an impressive mix of senior professionals from architects and designers to developers and end users, who will come together to discuss the most pressing issues facing the workplace design community now and into the future.

Cleaner Air, Productive Spaces: Oasis Plants Enhances Stevens & Bolton LLP's Workplace
The Oasis Plants team completed a stunning installation for Stevens & Bolton LLP in Surrey. Throughout the joinery and shelving planting, they incorporated hydroculture plants, while opting for replica foliage for high and ceiling raft plantings. To add height and texture in the seating areas, Oasis Plants selected Kentia palms, Monstera, Chamaedorea palm, and Aglaonema.
Including Palms in the floor plan offered numerous benefits, particularly their efficiency in removing chemicals from the air, such as Benzene, Formaldehyde, Ammonia Benzyne, which are unfortunately present in the working environment due to car exhausts and man-made materials. Oasis Plants' choice of these hard-working plants contributed to a cleaner and more productive workplace by purifying the air and releasing oxygen.
To soften the industrial structures as they matured, Oasis Plants utilized Scindapsus as trailing plants on the open shelving. These versatile plants thrive in a variety of lighting conditions, with their variegated leaves benefiting from some light exposure.
Throughout the office, Oasis Plants strategically placed Sansevieria as table and shelving plants. Known for their robustness and architectural appeal, Sansevieria can survive in most settings, making them a perfect choice for this project.
